Virgin Forest

Three young innocent bystanders are caught in an unexpected turn of events at the turn of the century. A Spaniard, a Filipino barrio maiden, and her fisherman-lover suddenly find themselves unwitting witnesses to the oncoming carnage by the Macabebes, a group of mercenaries at the service of the American colonizers, and the resistance of the revolutionary forces in their desperate efforts to waylay the new masters. The pacification campaign is met with inevitable success and the three protagonists are forced to find their own destiny under the new dispensation.

Paradise Inn

Paradise Inn is more than a watering hole, a gambling den cum-brothel frequented by the menfolk. It is a notorious landmark. Ester Paraiso, a retired prostitute, runs the place with help from her own daughter, Daria, whom she is preparing for the job, and from influential politicos. Her daughter, however, decides to run away but is later spurned by her suitor and his offer of a respectable life. Even the timely arrival of a two-beat magician, Rey, who hastily proposes marriage, fails to prevent the escalating tension as the mother-daughter conflict takes its worst turn culminating in the characters' fiery destruction.

Miguelito, Ang Batang Rebelde

After her release from prison arising from trumped-up charges, Auring decides to go back to her hometown to demand justice from her malefactors and to be reunited with her long-lost son. This, however, proves to be far from easy as her former lover who impregnated her is now the town mayor and an all-powerful politician who lords it over the townspeople, especially those who wish to testify on her behalf with help from a loyal friend and a principled lawyer, Auring offers some resistance, especially after her teenage son by the mayor discovers the truth. After an unexpected clash between the two contending groups, the mayor is shot to death, and mother and son are finally reunited at the end.

Hinugot sa Langit

A young office employee, Carmen Castro has liaison with a married man even if she has a faithful suitor from Davao. When she discovers she is pregnant, both her lover and confidante, Stella, advise her to have an abortion. Her landlady, Juling, a fanatical bom-again Charismatic, advises her to let the child live. Carmen decides to have an abortion, and, upon her return to the boarding house, witnesses a quick string of events: the murder of Juling by a slumdweller she ordered evicted from her land, the nervous breakdown of her friend, and the departure of both her suitor and lover. Carmen emerges from these experiences wiser, stronger and more resolute in facing up to a new phase in her life.

Kapit sa Patalim (Bayan Ko)

Turing Manalastas, a printing press worker, and his pregnant wife Luz, also a worker, can hardly make both ends meet. When a strike breaks at his work place, he refuses to join to protect his job, thus eliciting the ire of his fellow workers. His wife's pregnancy and eventually the enormous hospital bill he is forced to settle upon the birth of his first child compels him to turn to crime. At the end, having been driven to take matters into his own hands, Turing meets his tragic fate.
