Virgin Forest (1985)

Three young innocent bystanders are caught in an unexpected turn of events at the turn of the century. A Spaniard, a Filipino barrio maiden, and her fisherman-lover suddenly find themselves unwitting witnesses to the oncoming carnage by the Macabebes, a group of mercenaries at the service of the American colonizers, and the resistance of the revolutionary forces in their desperate efforts to waylay the new masters. The pacification campaign is met with inevitable success and the three protagonists are forced to find their own destiny under the new dispensation.
